SS8 Networks, the leader in Network and Lawful Intelligence, today announced that Gartner has published the new market segment Market Guide for Network Traffic Analysis (NTA) and recognized SS8 as a representative vendor to be considered by security and risk management leaders. Using Network Intelligence SS8 provides LEA and Intelligence Agencies the ability to use this data to solve crimes and threat detection.
As applying behavioral analysis to network traffic this is an additional tool for enterprises to detect suspicious traffic from a SPAN port and providing SS8 recognized Security Analytics capabilities to detect bad actor behavior. Applied to both network traffic and used for lawful intelligence, SS8 is leading an implementation to provide security and behavioral information on infected devices, bad actor behavior and the capability to architect the intercept.
According to Gartner, “Network traffic analysis (NTA) uses a combination of machine learning, advanced analytics and rule-based detection to detect suspicious activities on enterprise networks. NTA tools continuously analyze raw traffic and/or flow records (for example, NetFlow) to build models that reflect normal network behavior. When the NTA tools detect abnormal traffic patterns, they raise alerts. In addition to monitoring north/south traffic that crosses the enterprise perimeter, NTA solutions can also monitor east/west communications by analyzing network traffic or flow records that it receives from strategically placed network sensors.”
“SS8 appreciates the recognition from Gartner in providing Network Traffic Analysis, as one of the first vendors to help establish this new segment,” said Dr. Keith Bhatia, Chief Operating Officer. “We focus on bad actors in the corporate and lawful intelligence markets to provide tools and complex Machine Learning based algorithms to provide security analysts and law enforcement agents the ability to identify and find malicious or abnormal traffic patterns and score as well as raise alarms for further investigation.”
